Stahlbau Nägele GmbH in Eislingen, Swabia, produces an average of 7,000 tons of steel a year for its customers from industrial, plant, and trade fair construction as well as private customers. The company's range of parts extends from the smallest tubes to massive girders. In order to continuously produce this range of parts, the company Nägele currently operates four MEBA metal band saws in its machine park. The latest is the MEBAsteel 1250 DG with an individual measuring device.
“We decided on the MEBA double miter technology because the machine can pivot in all directions in a very versatile way.” Production manager at Stahlbau Nägele
The miter technology from MEBA includes the 7 ° pressure angle of the saw band as well as two differently sized band deflection discs, which means that profiles can be cut extremely quickly. The maximum incision length is shortened and, due to the smaller ratio of maximum to minimum engagement length, there is the option of a finer tooth pitch. By pivoting the incision channel, the MEBAsteel has a very low number of wear parts.
At Stahlbau Nägele, sawing is carried out in 2 shifts, around 20 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Of course, the quality has to be perfect and the saws must not stop at any time - they have to work quickly, economically, and particularly reliably.
"MEBA saws are very easy to operate in terms of operation."
The intelligent, ergonomic MEBA control can be integrated into the given or superior network if desired. Numerous programs can be easily created and managed. The controls are very user-friendly and are attached to the front of the machine. The control is equipped with a robust panel controller with a touchscreen. The self-explanatory symbols on the "Windows CE" operating system guide you intuitively through the menu.
The customer trend is moving more and more away from the standard of the shelf sawing systems towards the individual, automated complete solutions for even more economical benefits and time savings. Flexible sawing concepts, which consist of technically mature, powerful individual machines, combined with length measuring and material handling systems integrated into networks and tailored precisely to the customer's sawing tasks, are successful. It is precisely these customer-specific solutions that are MEBA's specialty.
