The main challenge for the client
A. Schweiger GmbH guarantees its customers direct dispatching on the same day if they order any time before 2 p.m. However, shipping only works smoothly if the selected contacts for the connector pins are picked quickly, correctly, and reliably. Approx. 1.000 different individual parts are currently stored and assembled into approx. 11.000 different connector variants during order picking.
Since counting the electrical contact pins by hand is very time-consuming, expensive, and prone to errors, this process should be automated.
The company has been using an EligoShake with a DOBOT M1 since 2020 to count the electrical contact pins. The flexible VarioShaker 270 component separator is used here, which separates the contact pins in the first step. The contact pins are then recognized by the EligoPart image processing system from attentra GmbH, so that the robust and precise DOBOT M1 industrial robot can pick up the pins and process them further.
By the use of this automation solution, commonly used quantities of electrical contact pins can be pre-counted quickly and without any errors. By increasing the speed of counting the pins, the Schweiger Group can continue to promise to dispatch the assembled kits on the same day.
